My brother drove me back to Indiana today, but we had to use my sister's car. Unfortunately the antenna was broken and we were limited to only one radio station with decent reception for the first half of the trip. On occasion we would get lucky and get a station with some more popular music, but more often than not we would be listening to crap. It didn't matter to us however, at least the car wasn't silent. Upon stopping for gas I rigged the antenna with a wire hanger I had, and suddenly we were faced with dozens of stations to choose from. After flipping through repeatedly I realized there wasn't anything really on to my liking and I much rather would have taken a nap or read a book. Reflecting on the situation it got me to think about how things are appreciated more in moderation: before cable I used to watch television constantly, but now it is a rarity. I wonder if these same ideas apply to other things in life, such as cars, books, or even people. Something to ponder.

So I went to Walmart last night/early today to buy a frisbee. While perusing the toy section I noticed that they were bringing back "He-Man". Now I know that the main purpose of shows like "He-Man" were to market thier extensive line of action figures (i.e. "Transformers" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"). However, I kind of liked He-man. So chalk one up to corporate mongers.

I took my niece and nephew to Idlewild yesterday. It's a local amusement park for those of you that don't know. Afterward we stopped to eat and proceeded to wait in our table for fifteen minutes before I finally flagged down a waitress who was not supposed to be ours and asked if we could order and she graciously accepted. Upon completion of our meal I had these words of confidence for the manager that evening:"So *squint* Tim, you may or may not have heard that I had to wait here for fifteen minutes before I had my drink order taken and even then it was by a waitress that I had to ask personally if she could wait on us. Now under normal circumstances I wouldn't really care if I had to wait, but the waitress that we did end up having was very good and I would like to reward her with a worthy gratuity. However, I don't think it is fair for me to pay extra for a meal that I had to wait fifteen minutes in my seat for. Do you think thats fair... Tim." Tim rewarded my intimidating confidence by covering my entire check. I returned by offering what would have been a fifty percent tip, but not bad on my part I believe.

You know. I don't think that Dippin' Dots are going to be the real ice cream of the future.

So on saturday night I went to the baseball game with Slacker and Machen (why a majority of my friends are referred to by there last names, I don't know). Afterward, we went to the Pub 'n Grub and they drank a little and then we went to Eat 'n Park for the midnight buffet (why western PA restaurants tend to use the "'n" I'm not really sure either). I was in the mood for strawberry's and the ones on the buffet were somewhat lacking; however, there was a strawberry syrup with pieces of strawberry in it. I proceded to remove every strawberry from the syrup and ate them upon sitting back down at the table. Keep in mind that these strawberries had been floating in syrup for probably the last hour and a half. I shouldn't need to tell you that spiking your sugar to 2000% of the daily recommended allowance is not an excellent way to relax. I mentioned my discomfort to the cute greeter and then proceded to remain motionless in my seat for a good twenty minutes. Upon paying our check I again used my discomfort as conversation material with the greeter; Slacker in turn used the oppurtunity to uppercut my stomach. Needless to say I reeled in agony and slowly convulsed for the next few mintues... I will miss my friends :-).

I've been working on making the webpage resonably close to having the functionality and format that I would like it to have once school starts. I just hope I'm getting closer.
