It was early spring 1997, I had the bright idea of having a softball game for all my friends. It took careful planning, and months of hype, but on May 26th 1997 The First Annual Rory Sant Level Green Community Memorial Day Pick Up Softball Game was held. It was a complete failure. But it got better.
Going away to college meant the softball game was more then just a neighborhood thing, it was a reunion of friends. Over the years the name would be shortened and the date would be changed, and the location moved, but always there in one way or another.
The softball game is Sunday the day before Memorial Day every year. Always at 1:00 PM. Always a good time.
